Molly’s Cloud Castles

Molly Griffith had a special chair, it was special because it had wheels.
Her Mummy said she had a special chair because she was a special girl.

Molly’s chair had wheels because Molly’s legs didn’t work very well.
Molly had Juvenile Arthritis, it made her legs hurt, they hurt a lot.

Molly tried to be cheerful, she tried to think about
anything else but the pain.
Even when she was at the hospital having therapy;
but sometimes she just couldn’t help it,
the pain was so bad it made Molly cry.

Molly sat in her special chair, humming gently to herself
wondering why Daddy had left her in the hallway all on her own.

“Ho hum,” she thought to herself. “Fiddle dee dee,” she said loudly to the hallway,
but no one was listening. Mollie didn’t like to be on her own, no, not ever.
Being alone made Molly nervous.

There’s a Crocodile In Our Pool

My brother swims from one end to the
other and it never chases him.
I know it would chase me if I went in
the pool because I can’t swim.

My teacher says I need to learn to swim, because
I live on an island with water all around.
There are rivers, lakes and lots of
families have a pool like ours.
I bet they don’t have a crocodile in their pool.

I told my dad there is a crocodile in our pool.
I showed him where it was and he pulled it out by the tail.
I guess I will go swimming in our pool now.
